SCAHC Sleep Center offers in lab Polysomnography (Sleep Testing) that includes Diagnostic and Therapy depending on your doctor's orders. Home sleep apnea testing may be available for qualified patients. Certain specialty daytime testing is available on a limited basis.
In most cases, a referral from your healthcare provider is required. Please contact our office for more information.
Results are typically completed within one to two business days. Your healthcare provider will receive the results and go over them with you during your follow-up appointment. We recommend allowing 10 business days for scheduling your follow-up appointment. This allows time for any delays in interpretation or your provider to receive and review results and recommendations made by the sleep specialist.
Sleep Testing is performed in the sleep center from Tuesday to Sunday Nights with the first appointment at 8pm and second at 9pm. Monday night the Sleep Center is closed for testing. Holidays, vacations, or staff availability may affect these days.

Gerald started his Sleep Medicine career under Andrew Binder, MD in Santa Barbara, CA in 1998 and returned to Arizona where he worked with the Samaritan/Banner Health Sleep Program, American Health Services, Valley Sleep Center, Desert Pulmonary and Sleep Consultants, and founded Ronin Sleep Solutions. Gerald Attended Arizona State University and learned Polysomnography from the Ohio Institute of Sleep Medicine. Gerald has served with the Gateway Community College Sleep Program Advisory Board and the Arizona Sleep Society Board since their inception. Gerald is a current member of the American Association of Sleep technologists (AAST) and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
Gerald enjoys working in the sleep center as he grew up with people that had undiagnosed sleep apnea that passed away early from health complications and hopes he can help others avoid these consequences. Gerald has over thirty thousand hours of patient sleep study monitoring time and nearly two decades of sleep center management experience. Gerald came to San Carlos Apache Healthcare to assist the native community in getting better sleep and providing his skills and experience to improve the sleep center operations.
“Many people are apprehensive about in-lab or home sleep studies” Gerald says, “however it is a minor inconvenience to initially test and continue to monitor your sleep quality on a regular basis.” Gerald also notes “You wear a few wires, and you can sleep how you feel comfortable in any position, and I have done sleep testing many times on myself and know what the patient is going through. I try to keep sleep testing relaxed and easy going for all my patients in efforts to make the experience comfortable.”
If you are interested in getting control of your sleep, reach out to the sleep center for information about getting an in-lab or home test. Generally, you will need to fill out some simple sleep questionnaires and see a health care provider to write an order for testing.
